What we need:
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Finance provides strategic guidance, operational leadership, oversight and monitoring for all aspects of financial planning, budgeting and decision support for Markham Stouffville Hospital. In addition to finance, this portfolio includes Information Technology & Systems, Telecommunications, Decision Support, Health Records and Patient Registration/Scheduling, business development and potentially, other operational areas. The exact portfolio will be aligned to the skill set and experience of the successful candidate. The successful candidate will look to optimize efficiency and performance amongst their portfolio including developing short and long-term financial plans and identifying financial opportunities. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will prepare, present and interpret financial and performance reports to management, the Board, and external agencies as well as help develop and implement strategic priorities, policies, procedures, and systems for the hospital(s) overall financial health. Additionally, this role will play an important role in developing and implementing future growth strategy for the organization and in collaboration with the clinical portfolios.

What you bring to MSH:
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required, Master’s degree preferred
- CPA designation required
- Minimum 10 years experience in financial healthcare management
- A thorough knowledge of GAAP and awareness of continuing changes that affect financial reporting
- Market intelligence, combined with a strong competitive knowledge of industry practices, trends, and developments
- A proven track record of initiative and follow through in developing and managing financial processes, systems, and controls
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and delegate in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
