Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) is the flagship facility within VCH. VGH is home to many specialty services including the provincial burn centre as well as quaternary emergency services including: spinal, neurosurgery and severe trauma. VGH is also a major teaching hospital, affiliated with The University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Medicine, and home to one of the largest research institutes in Canada. The UBC Faculty of Medicine is consistently ranked as one the best schools in Canada and in the World.
The Role
With this in mind, the emergency department at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) is now looking for up to eight new emergency medicine physicians to work in VCH’s busiest ER. The VGH emergency department receives over 90,000 patients each year and represents the province’s foremost Level 1 Trauma Centre. You could be the next medical professional that makes a lasting impact on the lives of thousands of local and provincial residents. We need someone who is interested in a full-time clinical commitment of approximately thirteen shifts per month. As part of your new role you will also be involved in the training of both FRCPC and CCFP (EM) residents within the emergency department and the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine.
Who you are
As one of the successful candidates, you….
- Are FRCPC-EM, CCFP-EM or ABEM (with a BC practice license) qualified;
- Come with excellent references;
- Have extensive experience training and working in a high acuity and volume centre;
