Physiotherapist – Critical Care
We currently have a temporary full-time opportunity (until June 2016) for a Temporary Part-time Physiotherapist in Critical Care unit at Bayview campus. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager in CVICU, you will be responsible for performing individual patient assessment and intervention while working within the multi-disciplinary health care team. Active participation in discipline-specific activities, including the provision of clinical and educational in-services, and the supervision of Physiotherapy undergraduate students is required. You will have ongoing involvement in clinical research activities, including the use of outcome measures related to the client populations served.
Qualifications/Skills
- Licensed and in good standing by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- One-to-two years previous experience with critical care patient populations is preferred
- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of research design, development, implementation, application, evaluation and knowledge transfer
- Expertise in collaborative professional practice, including inter-professional practice
- Demonstrated facilitation, mentoring and coordination abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job
- Computer literacy preferred
- Rostered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario for Tracheal Suctioning and Administering a Substance by Inhalation
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated effective written, oral and nonverbal communication skills
