The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region requires the services of a dynamic and team oriented Obstetrician/Gynecologist. The successful candidate would initially have a temporary appointment for a 12 month period with a view to potential renewal.
Specialists maintain a fee-for-service, independent practice within the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region. Specialists participate in a call rotation which is shared with a very patient-centered and cooperative call group within the specialty and an on-call premium is provided for on-call availability.
Obstetrical & Gynecological services are based at the Regina General Hospital with 36 obstetrical beds and 11 gynecological beds dedicated to the service. There are about 4,000 deliveries each year and a corresponding volume of gynecology. Specialists are supported by a complete range of neonatal, pediatric medical and surgical sub-specialists. In these superb facilities the region will continue to provide the complete continuum of care and enhance care for pregnant women and newborns.
The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. There is a fully accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program in Regina with 2 residents per year. It is our expectation that the successful candidate will become involved in the academic efforts in our region.

The SMA Specialist Recruitment Incentive was created to recognize the commitments of specialists establishing practices in Saskatchewan. The grant provides $30,000 to an eligible specialist who establishes practice in a Saskatchewan community for a minimum of 36 months. Relocation incentives are also available through the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region.
Successful candidates will hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, be a generalist with a diverse practice interest, particularly in low risk obstetrics. Candidates will eligible for regular licensure to practice in Saskatchewan. Preference will be given to residents of the University of Saskatchewan. In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
