- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Licensure in good standing by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba and certification in family medicine with the Canadian College of Family Physicians.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check.
Qualifications:
- Experience in family medicine or certification from the Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP).
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, and neurology.
- The ability to accurately and appropriately assess patients.
- Ability to utilize appropriate medical treatments, and to communicate the treatments to patients’ families, staff, medical and other professionals and stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for the purpose of developing rapport, trust and ethical therapeutic relationships with patients, colleagues and family members.
- The ability to participate effectively and appropriately as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
- Excellent written communication skills for the purpose of preparing reports, referral letters, discharge summaries, directives and memos.
- Excellent verbal communication skills for the purpose of effectively presenting complex, controversial or sensitive information to various stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively deal with patient care loads, deadlines and competing demands.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
- Experience using clinical information management systems (e.g. electronic patient chart).
