Right now we are looking for a Casual Physiotherapist to work with our Outpatient Rehabilitation Services team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing appropriate assessment and treatment of referred patients with various orthopedic conditions in the outpatient setting, including acute musculoskeletal injuries, fractures, post-operative orthopedic conditions including total joint replacements, upper extremity repairs, ACL reconstruction, sports injuries.
  • Prioritizing patient services to meet the needs of referred clients.
  • Recording client assessment, progress and discharge status.
  • Recording timely workload measurement data.
  • Works as a member of the health care team.
  • Able to manage caseload in a fast paced Outpatient setting.
  • Clinical supervision of Rehabilitation Assistants with the Ontario College of Physiotherapy support personnel standards.
  • Providing appropriate assessment and treatment of referred WSIB patients, including completion of the corresponding forms and assessments within the designated timelines.
  • Coverage within the Inpatient setting (Medicine or Surgical programs) may be required as needed on occasion, including scheduled weekends on a rotational basis.
  • Providing consultation and physiotherapy support to the Orthopedic surgeons at Fracture clinics.
  • Clinical supervision of PT students or PTA/OTA students during clinical placements throughout the year
  • Primary role is to provide relief staffing coverage within the Outpatient Rehab clinic during planned absences during the weekday. Occasional relief coverage within the Inpatient Surgical program may be required.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Eligibility for C.P.A membership.
  • •1-3 years experience working in an outpatient setting. Experience working in an acute care setting (Medicine & Surgery) is an asset.
  • Prior experience completing WSIB ) forms is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Availability to work during the weekends and Statutory holidays is an asset.
