InGenesis, Inc. is now accepting applications for a Physical Therapist to support a contract at Walter Reed National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. We are seeking highly qualified, talented and committed individuals available to work full-time hours.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Therapy accredited by The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) or the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- One year experience as a PT in an out-patient hospital or clinical setting.
- Valid, unrestricted, license, in Physical Therapy (from any state, territory or commonwealth of the US).
- US citizenship required.
- Must be able to pass a security background investigation.
The Physical Therapist will be expected to provide the following services/duties:
- Perform a full range of therapy services to develop treatment, and oversee the rehabilitation of patients as required, and in strict compliance with standing orders and protocols set forth by the MTF to include, but not limited to, the following:
- Manage a caseload. Write reports and attend multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review ongoing treatment.
- Act as the liaison with a wide variety of professionals, such as doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, to give a consistent continuum of care to the patient. Coordinate patient referral to other medical providers and families.
- Devise treatment plans, supervise PT assistants, review treatment plans periodically and evaluate progress and modify the treatment as appropriate.
- Develop rehabilitation programs which will help re-build lost motor functions.
- Mentor and coach patients, with various methods of physical therapy as outlined in the standards of practice of the MTF and IAW JC guidelines.
- Advise staff members’ acceptable PT treatment modalities. Propose solutions to reduce the challenges and obstacles in participating in activities of daily living.
- Ensure compliance with standard of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment MTF and IAW JC guidelines. Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.
- Will report to the Occupational/Physical Therapy Clinical Director.
- As required, participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities, designed to enhance health services.
