The Physiotherapist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include: assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Physiotherapy intervention, in accordance with professional standards.

Clinical Responsibilities: 

Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans. Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans. Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed. Able to monitor and support Physiotherapy Assistants in a team environment. Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients / care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed. Observes the performance of those assisting in the physiotherapy program and provides guidance as necessary.

Other Responsibilities 

Maintain active standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities Adhere to Bayshore ICS Policies and Procedures. Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with thecompany’s Quality Management System. Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsibleto notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns. Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only withappropriate Bayshore personnel. Complete other tasks as requested

Reporting Responsibilities The Physiotherapist reports to the Clinical Manager, as appropriate.

Job Qualification

Education Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Physiotherapy. Registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

Experience

Preference of three years providing Physiotherapy services. Experience with in home assessments and treatments; medical/legal report writing.

Other Skills and AbilitiesEnjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments. Strong, communication, (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills. Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent manner. Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a team. Demonstrated basic knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with secure email.. Commitment to continued learning. Valid driver’s license.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

The Physiotherapist must demonstrate ongoing competency in completing all duties and responsibilities of this job description, in response to changes by the regulating body, as well as agreed upon specific goals and objectives.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW

Performance will be reviewed on an ongoing basis with a formal review at the end of the three month probationary period and subsequently, on at least an annual basis. Input will be sought from employees and consultants at the branch and National Development Centre as applicable
