Nemours is seeking an Outpatient Therapy Services Manager to join our Therapy Services team in Deptford, NJ.

Nemours duPont Pediatrics, Deptford, is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated health care system in New Jersey, providing convenient, easy access to services and staff from Nemours Children’s Health System. We offer a range of outpatient specialty medical and surgical services, as well as ancillary testing, to families in South Jersey.

The Therapy clinic at the Deptford, NJ location will be a full-service therapy clinic with occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech language pathology, including feeding and swallowing evaluation and treatment services. This location will also have a therapeutic pool, and we will offer full-service aquatic therapy. This clinic will also include sports medicine and full concussion testing programming.

Therapy space will include individual treatment and evaluation rooms, as well as a large open gym.

This position has a split of management responsibilities and patient care responsibilities.

Coordinates the operational activities and manages daily staff assignments, patient flow, supplies and equipment in a manner that meets the needs of practitioners and patients. Responsible for adherence of department policy and procedures by staff. Facilitates performance improvement programs and initiatives.
Oversees ongoing development and retention of qualified clinical staff.
Conducts performance reviews, disciplinary actions including termination (upon discussion and approval of Director and HR), and hiring of staff within department.
Provides evaluation, treatment and consultation independently to patients within the program.
Demonstrated clinical proficiency in direct patient care and is responsible for the completion of 100% of basic clinical competencies and 75% of clinical competency in a discipline-specific specialty area.
Oversees implementation of strategic planning activities and initiatives.
Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services and ensure patient safety, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.

Responsibilities
Responsible for facilitating a collaborative and supportive relationship between key departments within the organization in order to achieve hospital and practice goals and objectives.
Provides cross-coverage for Program Supervisors in times of absence or vacancies to ensure continued smooth patient operations.
In conjunction with Program Supervisors, coordinates the implementation of the program’s annual performance improvement plan to ensure patient care quality, outcome and customer satisfaction.
In collaboration with department leadership team, is responsible for developing, monitoring and meeting the budgeted financial goals for areas of responsibility. Provides budgetary input, collates information and completes required fiscal reporting to Program Director. Works to maximize revenue collections and responds to requests by CBO on billing issues and concerns.
Responsible for employment of clinical personnel, disciplinary action, evaluation, recommendations on salary adjustments, annual review of job descriptions and competency check lists, as well as assurance of current licensure when necessary or applicable, and other personnel actions as required. Ensures completion of all annual department, hospital and organizational requirements.
Conducts monthly program meetings with all program staff.
Approves and coordinates time-off requests and utilization of per diem or casual staff. Completes time and pay for assigned staff. Approves purchasing requests for department.
Coordinates interview and hiring process for clinical and support staff within management scope.
Promotes a positive work attitude within the department and practice, and treats employees with respect, dignity and fairness, but is also firm when necessary. Participates in various committees as required or assigned.
Provides regular feedback to clinical staff to address scheduling problems in a timely and effective manner. Rounds regularly with direct reporting staff and semi-annually with key referral departments.
Responds to patient and family concerns resolving complaints, issues or inquiries.
Maintains current knowledge of all applicable licensing, regulatory and accreditation standards.
Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including JCAHO standards, state regulations, Life Safety Code, National Fire Prevention Association, Office of Human Protection, Americans with Disabilities Act and Clean Air Act, in areas of responsibility.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree; clinical degree preferred.
2-3 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
Must maintain clinical license in NJ and DE.
