Assistant Director, Clinic
The Assistant Director will be responsible for leading all daily functions for the “front of house” administration, client experience, capacity management/revenue generation, physical space and medical office functions, including management of human, financial and capital resources for the Executive Health Clinic. As a senior member of the Toronto management team, the successful candidate will contribute to the short and long-term organizational planning and strategy for the growth and development of the central region of Medisys.
Responsible for, but not limited to:
- Work under the guidance of the Senior Director, to develop business plans and strategies, in keeping with the objectives of the region
- Develop clinic budget for functional areas and manage staff to meet revenue and expense targets;
- Provide full profit and loss oversight for costs related to assigned functional areas as well as clinic level revenue generation; completing appropriate analysis, recalibration and reforecasting to ensure financial objectives are met;
- Liaise with the Senior Director and other managers to investigate concerns, share information and collaborate for effective decision making;
- Collaborate with national partners to set strategic direction for like functions nationally, implementing at the local level;
- Lead and participate in projects both on a regional and national basis;
- Design and implement standards, policies and process designed to achieve the goals of high-level patient experience and care;
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with employees, doctors and other key stakeholders to share information, provide support and ensure consistency and quality in delivery of service to patients and clients;
- Effectively manage staff including performance management, recruitment and selection, orientation and training of new employees, motivating staff to achieve objectives, conducting performance appraisals, providing ongoing coaching and feedback and absence management;
- Acts as resource to physicians as needed to ensure the completion and/or oversee tasks such as billing, banking, patient follow up and other appropriate tasks as they arise.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Healthcare Services Management;
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years progressive experience of which at least 2 years are in directing and supervising “high touch” client service and administrative functions;
- Clinical background in nursing, kinesiology, physiotherapy or other relevant discipline considered a nice to have;
- Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and provide strong leadership;
- Excellent communication, presentation skills and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
- Accustomed to working closely with shared services functions such as Finance, Human Resources, IT and Sales and Marketing;
- Operational change management and project management experience;
- Self-starter who works effectively with minimal supervision, while delivering the highest standards of patient care, leadership and customer service ;
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement policy, procedures and improvement initiatives;
- Successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making;
- A multi-tasker with an ability to wear many hats in a fast paced environment;
- Passionate about preventive health and wellness;
- Committed to delivering the highest standard in patient care and client experience.
