Clinical Physiotherapist I – Community Support
Hammond Building, Corner Brook, NL
DUTIES: This position is responsible for assessing the needs of individuals residing at home and within the Personal Care Home environment, and providing client/caregiver education to enable clients to achieve the highest level of independence. Planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating physiotherapy service delivery in a community setting is required. This is a challenging position, which requires an individual to practice independently and be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team.
QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate will be expected to have experience in physiotherapy; have graduated from an approved school of physiotherapy with a Bachelors or Clinical Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy; and hold a current license or be eligible for registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapists prior to beginning employment. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Clinical Physiotherapist working with older adults with complex medical and mobility issues. The therapist will provide services to clients predominantly within the home or community setting as well as when necessary the Emergency Room at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. Candidates should possess well-developed organizational, communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience in program management and evaluation would be an asset. A valid driver’s license and use of a private vehicle is a requirement for this position. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is also required for this position.
