Clinical Specialist – Occupational Therapist
Key Responsibilities: As a vital member of the accident benefits team, the physiotherapist supports the non-clinical staff by reviewing files and treatment plans to assist them with decision making on claims. The physiotherapist provides guidance and training to staff on an individual basis and in a group setting, and will be an integral part of the team by participating in various initiatives and projects, offering their knowledge and expertise from a rehabilitation and medical perspective. The physiotherapist practices in accordance with the College of Physiotherapist of Ontario’s Standards of Practice and Guidelines and according to Intact’s Policies and Procedures. S/he possesses a solid understanding of various diagnoses and typical healing times, including soft tissue injuries, fractures, concussions, and amputations, as well as working knowledge of the Minor Injury Guideline, Accident Benefit Coverage in Ontario, the SABS, and Auto Insurance Claims Forms (OCF Forms). The physiotherapist utilizes a client centered approach, incorporates best available evidence, and actively participates in continuing professional development opportunities and committees.
