Decision Support Specialist

The Decision Support Specialist (DSS) is a key role within CritiCall supporting the overall strategic objectives and priorities of the Program. The DSS individual is responsible for the overall production, validation and standardization of reports, data dissemination (internal and external), data /trend/probability analysis, as well as recommendations that align with the overall strategic priorities. The DSS will coordinate, automate, and standardize all published reports from the Provincial Hospital Information systems and the shared file database. The DSS will work closely with the CritiCall Systems Specialist and Applications IT Specialist to plan and implement strategies that require IT infrastructure evolution to meet the strategic priorities of the program.

 

Schedule Work Hours Monday to Friday; days 
Qualifications

1. University Degree/College Diploma in Computer Studies, Information Management, Health Informatics
2. Minimum 2 years experience utilizing and/or improving software process through metrics management and reporting
3. Minimum 3 years of related experience with Business Intelligent tool such as Cognos and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
4. Demonstrated expertise in statistical modeling in the healthcare sector
5. Conceptual knowledge of health care system performance measurement, health information systems and data warehouse design and deployment
6. Understanding of critical care and/or healthcare practices and processes
7. Knowledge of healthcare or demographic datasets and standards
8. Experience in producing standardized and ad hoc reports for both internal and external stakeholders and troubleshooting automated reports
9. Proven ability to communicate technical issues to senior managers
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present information to relevant stakeholders
11. Project management experience an asset
