Nemours is seeking a Gait Laboratory Technician to join our Gait Laboratory team in Wilmington, DE. We recently completed a multi-phase hospital expansion that includes new inpatient rooms, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. Additionally, Nemours duPont Pediatrics allows us to reach more children across the region through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems. This position is responsible for collecting, processing and storing clinical motion analysis data; setting up and calibrating motion analysis equipment; and assisting with the coordination of field-based research subjects, data and equipment. Essential Functions.
1. Collection of kinematic, kinetic, video, EMG, force-plate, foot pressure and oxygen consumption data for clinical and research analysis.
2. Processing of kinematic, kinetic, video, EMG, force-plate, foot pressure and oxygen consumption data for clinical and research analysis.
3. Initialization, set-up and calibration of motion analysis, EMG, foot pressure and metabolic hardware and software systems.
4. Data management, including data storage and organization, for clinical and research projects.
5. Assisting with the collection and processing of research data and writing and presenting of subsequent publications.
6. Coordinating and communicating with research subjects, and managing field-based test equipment and data collection. Requirements.
1. Working knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
2. Troubleshooting skills of computer platforms (PC, Macintosh), all software programs and all lab instrumentation.
3. Experience with the motion analysis equipment, including high-speed video-based motion analysis system, force-plates, electromyography, foot pressure analysis systems and oxygen analysis system.
4. Communication skills with patients, research subjects and their families.
5. Attention to detail and organization .
