Medical Radiation Tech II

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the CT Team Leader and the direct supervision of the CT Area Supervisor, this person is responsible for performing CT procedures assigned to the area.  Must have a good understanding of CT imaging equipment and also be able to operate this equipment in a safe and effective manner.  Must be able to work in all areas of the Radiology division.
Qualifications:
– Within Good Standing with ACMDTT and CAMRT.
– CT Experience is required.
– Completion of MRT program from an accredited college.
– Current Diagnostic Imaging Venipuncture certification is an asset.
– A minimum of two years general experience is preferred.
– Oncology experience is desired.
– General knowledge of computers.
– Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required.
– Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility.
– Good interpersonal and communication skills.
– Demonstrated effective communication skills.
– Ability to cooperate.
– Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork.
– Perception, initiative, good judgment and concern for detail and accuracy.
– Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians.
– Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.

• All professions must provide proof of licensure or registration with the approved Alberta regulatory college, prior to commencing duties with AHS where applicable:
– Regulated health professions under the Alberta Health Professions Act and Health Disciplines Act will be required to provide an original copy of a valid practice permit before commencing their duties with AHS.
– Other professions governed by government acts, college or regulatory body requirements may be required to provide additional documentation.
