Job Overview
Position Overview:

Primary
role of personal trainer is to assess, teach, train and supervise physical
activity of guests/clients. Must
educate, motivate, plan and coach the guest/client to help them get the best
from their workouts and exercise plans (which are bespoke to each client). Must promote and deliver personal training
services that ensure clients receive personal attention, motivation, and
professional state-of-the-art exercise instruction within the club.
Essential Functions:

·
Maintain full knowledge of club functions and activities as it pertains
to members and guests. Be familiar with
resort equipment, club fitness classes, specials and hours of operation.

·
Promote all club programs and departments by discussing other department
areas that may assist the member with a “total club experience”.

·
Responsible for fitness floor operations, equipment upkeep, and customer
service. Take an active role in
maintaining a neat, clean, and presentable club at all times.

·
Update and be knowledgeable of Daily Function Report information.

·
Must promote and deliver courteous, efficient, and memorable service to
all members and guests. Promote club
activities, and amenities within our facility.
·
Coach and assist workouts, whether using weights, machines or dong
aerobics, walking or flexibility training.

·
When not otherwise occupied with a client, provide club members with
correctional instruction, on the gym floor.

·
During the workout, monitor and record client’s progress using methods
such as body fat testing and heart rate levels.

·
Provide advice about lifestyle changes and more general information
about health and nutrition.

·
Assess the needs and capabilities of individuals through weighing,
measuring and conducting fitness tests to check blood pressure, heart rate and
lung capacity.

·
Provide training and assistance
to individuals and groups by preparing a routine of client specific exercises.

·
Provide advice to individuals on the correct method of exercising with
weightlifting equipment, exercise bikes, treadmills and other training and
exercise machines.

·
Devise personal exercise programs
for individuals according to age and level of fitness. Provide instruction in a variety of fitness
activities.

·
Teach and personally adhere to
proper training and biomechanical techniques. Schedule clients for regular
fitness evaluations.

·
Assist in the cleaning and general maintenance of the club and make sure
that equipment is maintained and correctly set up.

·
Work on the fitness floor to take bookings or provide information about
facilities.

·
Consult with head trainer, doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians and
other health professionals to devise health and fitness programs for clients.

·
Report to Head Trainer upon commencing a scheduled session, as well as
prior to finishing a scheduled session. Ensure that all clients begin and end sessions
on schedule.

·
Be prepared prior to commencing work with a client by reviewing each
client fitness profile prior to their initial session.

·
Maintain accurate and up-to-date files on all clients. This will include completing both Client Log
Sheets.

·
Maintain effective communication with clients by promptly returning all
phone messages.

·
Promote the use of continual personal training through ensuring renewals
of existing clients.

·
Generate referrals by maintaining contact with existing club members.
This includes informing members of current promotions/incentives for referring
new members to the club and ensuring that all members are aware of, and
regularly make use of, their guest privileges. This will include speaking with
members within the facility, as well as over the phone; all within the frame
work an objective, professional, and business-minded relationship.

Be safety and security conscious.

·
Clear and direct communication with all other departments and assistance
in other areas when needed.

·
Always be in proper uniform and comply with grooming standards.

·
Attend and actively participate in the scheduled meetings.

·
Maintain schedule availability to provide the best assistance to the job
related responsibilities to include but not limited to client expectations.

·
Perform the role of other positions within the Aria Club as needed.
Essential Functions
·
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation
from high school or any other combination of training or experience that
provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
·
1+ year training experience preferred, ideally in hospitality setting.
·
Working knowledge of computer programs, MS Windows, and MS Office.
·
CPR and 1staid certification.
·
Demonstrated
interest in fitness, health, and well-being and a strong desire to assist others
in adopting a healthy lifestyle.
·
Certification
as a Personal Trainer by an accredited organization such asNASM, NSCA, ACSM or ACE Certified.
·
Ability
to successfully complete a practical evaluation designed to test proper
biomechanics, exercise technique, and form.
Certification as a nutrionist preferred.
·
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and handle pressure situations
with ease.
·
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail while
exhibiting courteous and cooperative behavior with minimal supervision.
·
Ability to speak, read, write, hear and understand the English language.
·
Ability to use sound judgment regarding day to day club operations.
·
Must be able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
·
Ability to work varying shifts, including early mornings and late
nights.
·Ability to communicate verbally in a clear, concise, and motivating manner, while at
the same time being an effective listener.
·
Ability
to maintain a positive, professional, success-driven, and customer service oriented
attitude at all times.
