POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for delivering high quality physiotherapy care to both in-patient and outpatients as part of a multi professional Rehabilitation Services team. Assess all new patients assigned, and prepares a treatment plan based on prescription of referring Physician and specific individual needs. Liaisons with referring Physicians and attends patient/family meetings where appropriate. Conducts patient/family education sessions. Documents all relevant information. Reports directly to the Coordinator of Rehabilitation Services and/or their designee.

The successful Candidate will be responsible for:

Practicing and adhering to the Service Excellence Standards of hospital (“WE CARE “)

Ensuring a high standard of clinical care for the customers under your care, and support staff to do likewise

Working effectively and collaboratively with medical, nursing and Rehabilitation Services team to ensure delivery of a coordinated multidisciplinary service. This will include case conferences, department rounding and discharge planning.

Documenting and recording customer care services, treatment, and progress in patient and department records.

Maintaining own clinical professional development by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments, and incorporate them as necessary into your work

Deciding priorities for own work area, balancing other patient related and professional demands, and ensure that these remain in accordance with the department goals

Maintainnig high professional standards of behaviour and appearance.

Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related departmental and professional goals

Being professionally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care.

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited University
and currently licensed by The Bahamas Health Professionals Council (HPC)

A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience, preferably in a hospital setting

Must have strong multitasking abilities and critical thinking skills with the ability to work under pressure

Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that engage effectively with the customer and the customer’s rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.

A team player who is willing to assist customers and support the goals and objectives of Doctors Hospital

Must be adaptable and able to work flexible schedule
