Physiotherapist, Complex Continuing Care
JOB SUMMARY:
The Physiotherapist (PT) is an integral member of the Physiotherapy service, Allied Health and clinical programs in which care is provided. Through the provision of patient and non-patient care activities, the PT enhances the quality of life of patients by utilizing best practice and providing assessment and treatment for a mixed patient population in Complex Medical services. Principal responsibilities include: collaborating with interprofessional team in providing patient focused care; communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues; participating in Program planning/development, professional and hospital initiatives supporting quality management and research; supervising Physiotherapy students for clinical education; interacting with volunteers; complying with and committing to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy
- Minimum of 3 years working as a Physiotherapist
- Experience in neurological rehabilitation, complex continuing care and dialysis rehabilitation preferred
- Member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario; CPA membership preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support , (B-2 person rescuer or C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada (on employment)
- NDT/Bobath experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
