Primary Health Care Family Physician
Sunrise Health Region requires a Primary Health Care Family Physician for the community of Preeceville, Saskatchewan. The physician must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan. The successful applicant may qualify for the Rural Practice Establishment Grant Program, offered through the Saskatchewan Medical Association, which provides $25,000.00 to an eligible family physician that establishes a practice in a rural Saskatchewan community.
Position Summary and Geographic Information: This contracted position works in a team-based Primary Health Care setting with another physician, Nurse Practitioner (Registered Nurse) and other healthcare disciplines in the rural area. The clinic is located within the health care facility and is modern, well organized and fully equipped. The Preeceville and District Integrated Health Care Facility houses 10 acute and 40 long term care beds under one roof.
Preeceville is a vibrant community located in the east central part of Saskatchewan, close to hunting, fishing and other recreational activities. The Town of Preeceville serves a trading area of approximately 5,500 people and is about a one and a half hour drive from the Yorkton Regional Health Centre in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
The Sunrise Health Region currently provides the following specialty services:
– Obstetrics/Gynecology – Ophthalmology
– General Surgery – Internal Medicine
– Radiology – Anesthesiology
– Psychiatry – Medical Health Officer
Town or local community partners may offer additioinal incentives such as relocation assistance, temporary housing or use of a car.
