Psychiatrist- Geriatric Psychiatry
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a psychiatrist to provide care to geriatric patients.
Duties include clinical evaluation and treatment of inpatients, teaching and supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, and participation in research and other academic activities. Current expertise regarding late-life mood and cognitive disorders is required for the position. Research experience in peripheral biomarkers is also essential.
CAMH is Canada’s premier addiction and mental health facility and a world leader in the diagnosis and care of patients with addiction and mental disorders, offering a wide spectrum of care, from treatment for first episode to care for the severely and persistently mentally ill. It is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, the largest and most prestigious research-intensive university in Canada. CAMH, together with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto has a strong tradition in the integration of clinical, teaching and research activities.
Applicants must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an equivalent organization and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Candidates should also be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
Compensation is in accordance with the compensation of a psychiatrist in the province of Ontario (a guaranteed income of $240,000 a year with opportunity to earn more based on additional fee for service earnings; benefits not included). This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, M6J 1H4.
