RVHS Sports Medicine Clinic requires an experienced and committed physiotherapist (PT) to join our team on a part-time basis (2 days a week). The PT will be responsible for designing and implementing sports specific programs with a strong focus on exercise based rehabilitation strength and conditioning to help our patients recover from sport related injuries.
As a key member of the Sports Medicine team, the PT will take a role in assisting with the development of sports programming and best practices for this patient population. The PT will work closely with the sports orthopaedic surgeons and the department of orthopaedics to will establish linkages and collaborative working relationships with all multidisciplinary teams to improve patient flow and continuum of care across the hospital and the community.
Requirements:
• Completed diploma in Sports Physiotherapy through Sports Physiotherapy Canada
• Preferably experience working with athletes in a sports therapy clinic
• Licensed with the College of Physiotherapy of Ontario
• Preferred Master′s degree in Physiotherapy
• Member of CPA and OPA
• Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage a busy and varied caseload
• BCLS preferred
• Knowledge of the relevant profession specific and general legislation, including the Health Care Consent Act, Substitute Decision Act and Public Hospital Act
• Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills with the ability to work well with patients, families and the community.
• Ability to collaborate with inter-professional healthcare teams to create an interdisciplinary plan of care
• Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated initiative and leadership skills
• Experience in educating and training staff, family, students and volunteers
• Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Rouge Valley’s comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.
• Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public.
• Demonstrated pattern of good attendance
