Temporary Assignment – approximately 60 weeksQUALIFICATIONS • Graduate of an accredited Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapist Assistant 2-year diploma program • CPR certificate • PTA/OTA certification recognized by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) and the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) • Demonstrated interest and proficiency in Physiotherapist Assistant/Occupational Therapist roles • Familiarity with various computer applications i.e. MSWord, internet, patient registration systems • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and critical thinking skills • Ability to communicate with an elderly and/or fraile population • Physical ability for the regular use of therapy equipment i.e. wheelchairs, bariatric chairs, mechanical lifts, weights • Ability to function effectively within a team and manage competing demands • Minimum of three and up to 6 months clinical experience, with 2 years experience in a hospital or clinic environment working with clients with orthopaedic, rheumatic, neurological, respiratory and geriatric conditions • Must be capable of performing all related duties i.e. lifting, transferring patients, walking with and portering patients • Good work performance and a good attendance record are essential • An updated resume should accompany the application RESPONSIBILITIES |
